Fire Protection
TÜV SÜD Rail has been offering Fire Protection services to the rail industry for 40 years and our consultants have been recognised as ‘experts’ in their field by the German Railway Authority.
We have vast experience in developing fire safety plans and conducting fire risk analysis for Rolling Stock, railway stations, tunnels and throughout the entire network. By including our experts at the planning stages, fire risks will be prevented and compliance can be demonstrated.
TÜV SÜD Rail has access to fire testing facilities in Germany and in the UK that can simulate the movement of smoke and how fires are likely to spread throughout vehicle compartments. Our consultants are then able to analysis these results and recommend appropriate action.
Our engineers have also investigated the causes of fire on various classes of Rolling Stock throughout Europe and have been able to recommend measures to prevent the re-occurrence of such fires as a result of their investigations.
