RF Shielding
TÜV SÜD Product Service has launched a new accredited service to test the RF Shielding effectiveness of specialist enclosures. Our testing methodology has been accredited by UKAS to measure the attenuation of Radio Frequency signals through enclosures that have been designed to make communications equipment secure and free from unintentional leakage.
What Products Can Be Tested?
- All enclosures for Electronic equipment
- Range: 12U to 40U
Why Do These Products Need RF Shielding Tests?
Manufacturers can:
- Validate the shielding effectiveness and quality of manufacture of their enclosures as part of their internal quality assurance
- Increase their reputation with customers by having their products tested by a trusted third-party
- Gain competitive advantage by having their products certified and using the worldrecognised TÜV Product Service logo to promote their products
Installers can:
- Demonstrate continued compliance following any modifications to the enclosure during installation
End Users can:
- Have peace of mind that their enclosure does not allow sensitive information to be captured by unauthorised persons
Stringent Testing Capabilities
Currently there is no standard to test for the screening effectiveness of small enclosures, but our RF Shielding tests are UKAS-accredited and based on IEEE 299 and Mil-Std 285.
We can provide:
- Testing up to 100dB
- Frequencies from 1kHz - 10GHz
- Spot frequencies
- Magnetic field tests
- Electric field tests
- Planewave field tests
