New appointment by Network Rail
TÜV Product Service has been appointed as an Independent Safety Assessor (ISA) by Network Rail and is now authorised to carry out independent evaluations of safety and risk on safety-critical systems used throughout the UK rail network.
TÜV Product Service and TÜV SÜD Rail, its sister company within the TÜV SÜD group, have many years’ experience of assessing safety-critical rail applications for leading international companies, particularly for signalling and rolling-stock.
Through this new appointment, TÜV Product Service will be authorised to carry out assessments on behalf of Network Rail of electrical, electronic, and software controlled systems according to the generic international standard IEC 61508, and the European EN 50126, 50128 and 50129 standards.
