TÜV SÜD acquires Korean nuclear engineering service provider GNEC
TÜV SÜD has acquired the leading Korean nuclear service provider GNEC where together they will combine comprehensive expertise with global experience to support Korea's ambitious power plant programme from planning and licensing to plant construction and operation.
The new company will leverage the expertise and experience of GNEC to provide a more diverse and specialized range of services to meet domestic market needs in Korea, while TÜV SÜD's global network will provide a gateway for Korean manufacturers to expand into overseas markets.
Nuclear power is widely regarded as the most important energy source that can replace fossil energy in many Asian countries, and Reiner Block (CEO of TÜV SÜD Korea) firmly believes the combined strengths of TÜV SÜD and GNEC will support the export of the Korean nuclear industry.
