Despite poor test results, use a child restraint system on every trip
Special-interest magazine “auto motor und sport” has released a report on a crash test carried out by TÜV SÜD which revealed that half of the child restraint systems tested cannot be recommended by safety experts.
Nevertheless, child car seats that satisfy only a few of the test requirements are still better than travelling without any restraint system. In this article TÜV SÜD's experts give tips and advice on what to look out for when buying a child car seat including elements such as vehicle category, weight class and certification marks.
