Hearing Aid Compatibility (HAC) Testing
Hearing Aid Compatibility Testing
TÜV Product Service provides accredited Hearing Aid Compatibility (HAC) testing of digital wireless devices including mobile phones and Bluetooth headsets.
We offer manufacturers, network operators and regulators a comprehensive HAC testing service that covers the regulatory requirements of the North American market and fulfills the requirements of the current ANSI C63.19 standard. This includes RF emissions testing and Tele-coil (T-Coil) signal testing.
Wireless devices operating across the frequency range of 800 to 950 MHz and 1.6 GHz to 2.5 GHz may be tested in order to determine the performance category rating for RF Emissions and T-Coil signal quality.
To ensure that hearing aid users are provided with compatible wireless devices, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) requires that digital wireless phones, manufactured or imported for use in the United States, are compatible with hearing aids and cochlear implants. Our HAC testing addresses these mandatory requirements.
