Environmental Testing
Leading Environmental Testing Laboratory to the Aerospace Industry
TÜV Product Service has been providing state-of-the-art environmental testing services such as shock testing, vibration testing, climatic testing and mechanical testing to the aerospace industry for over 50 years. Our successful track record includes working for suppliers to Boeing and Airbus for the current B787, A380 and A400M programmes.
Our UKAS-accredited environmental test laboratory (No. 0141) covers an area of 1200m2 and has a unique combination of test facilities that includes 9 climatic chambers, many with flush mounted floors and one with 4 metre access doors. There are 3 altitude facilities, capable of simulating conditions at 30,000m as well as icing and rapid decompression.
The vibration and shock test laboratory comprises a complete range of machines capable of conducting vibration, shock, bump and bounce. Most of our machines can combine vibration and shock with temperature.
A number of our test facilities are the largest available in the UK and we can accommodate large-scale sub assemblies weighing up to 5 tons. We have a dedicated 400 Hz supply available to the chambers and shakers in order to replicate aircraft power.
Explosives testing
TÜV Product Service is licensed to carry out explosives testing. This allows us to carry out environmental testing and EMC testing on items containing explosives with a Net Explosive Quantity (NEQ) of 20kg for a hazard classification of 1.4 and 10kg of 1.3. Products with higher NEQ and hazard classification will be reviewed at on an individual basis.
